The Gods
The Gods are known as Aesir in Norse Mythology, and they lie in Asgard. There are Gods also known as the Vanir, and those lie in Vanaheim.
Not all the Gods are in this section, but the ones that are most known/popular, as well as the ones that should be learned as they have an important role in Norse Mythology.

- Odin - The One-Eyed All Father, the god of wisdom. He is the father of Thor and Balder. Known to be the most powerful and the most wisest of the Gods.
- Thor - The god of thunder, he possesses Mjöllnir and is the husband of Sif. The son of Odin. Second most powerful, after Odin.
- Loki - Mischief is written all around him, therefore the god of mischief. Handsome, and has three odd children - Hel, Fenris Wolf, and Jormungandr. Not actually a one of the Aesir - he's a Jötunn, but raised by the viking gods.
- Freya - Goddess of the Vanir, and Frey’s sister.
- Tyr - The god of war with one hand. One of the sons of Odin.
- Balder - The most beautiful god there is, the son of Odin, and the god of purity.
- Frey - The God of the Vanir, brother to Freya.
- Frigg - Practically an All Mother, and Odin’s wife. She is the mother of Balder. Queen!
- Heimdall - A warden to the gods. Possesses the Gjallarhorn.
- Idunn - The goddess of the Aesir, and holds the apples of immortality in possession. (Grants eternal youth.)
- Sif - The wife of Thor.
- Sigyn - The wife of Loki, stays loyal to him and supports him when he is imprisoned.
- Njord - The father of Frey and Freya, as well as the god of the Vanir.
The Beings
The gods aren't the only ones. Here lies the most sacred and important beings in Norse Mythology. They all play an important role in the pantheon.
- Hel - The ruler/queen of Helheim, Loki’s daughter. Is said to be half-living and half-dead. Sometimes considered a giantess or goddess.
- Ymir - Believed to be the first ever being in the world. The ancestor of all giants. It is believed that Odin and his brothers used the parts of his body to make the world.
- Einherjar- Those who die courageously on the battlefield and are sent to Valhalla by Odin’s female servants - the Valkyries.
- Jormungandr - Loki’s son, also known as the Midgard serpent.
- Laufey - Loki’s mother- known to be very thin.
- Fenris Wolf - Another one of Loki’s son- a wolf. He is the reason as to why Tyr lost his hand.
- Angrboda - The mother of Loki’s ‘hideous’ children- Hel, Fenris Wolf, and Jormungandr. A giantess.
- Ratatoskr - The squirrel that roams around the branches of the Yggdrasil. Considered a protector of the tree in some cases.
- Brokkr - The brother of Sindri. Known for helping with Mjollnir, Draupnir, and many other sacred items.
- Sindri - The blacksmith dwarf and Brokkr’s brother. Known for crafting Mjollnir, Draupnir, and many other sacred items.
- Sons of Ivaldi - Crafted Sif’s Golden hair, Gungnir, and many other sacred items.
